The Lullababes Story

Remember when your mom made your clothes and grandma made you blankets and sweaters? Did they have more time than we do? I doubt it.

They just believed that homemade was better, quirks and all. We feel the same way at Lullababes, bringing old fashioned ways into a crazy, electronic world. If you want to slow down and enjoy life with a blanket that is handmade in America, not mass produced, you’re in the right place. Most Lullababes blankets come into the world being serenaded by their creator. So now you know our secret ingredient: it’s love.

How Lullababes Began

A few years ago, I was invited to my best friend’s house for their son’s birthday. To my horror the invitation said no gifts. How is that possible? I can’t show up empty handed. So I thought to myself, “How can I get around this? I know, I will make something!” I knew their son loved fleece fabric and I had a sewing machine. So I started on the very first Lullababes handmade baby blanket. It was a huge hit at the party and more importantly I saw how important it was to my friend and her son. This is what makes Lullababes so special to me.

Since that first blanket, I have gone through a lot of trial and error to improve the blankets. Now, I get to stay at home with my kids and create, something (as all stay-at-home moms know) I have to do to stay sane. All fabrics have been lovingly tested by my own babies.
