Born in 1752, what is there to do? Well if you are Betsy Ross, you sew the first American flag of course! Betsy was known for her sewing skills and George Washington himself asked her to sew the flag. He was very impressed when he gave her a rough sketch of the flag with six pointed stars and, with one cut, Betsy made a five pointed star. (Of course, now I’m going to attempt a five pointed star cut!)
So where am I going with all this? In Betsy’s time, almost everything you owned would certainly have been made in America. Unfortunately, most of the items in our houses these days are not made in the USA. I bought a shirt the other day, made in country I have never heard of!
I am very proud to say that all Lullababes blankets are sewn in sunny Southern California. Even when we are a huge, successful company, we will still have an American made product. It’s important to me and to America. Isn’t it nice to know some things are still done the same way they were hundreds of years ago?
